Offset Net Worth (Money & Salary)

What is Offset’s Net Worth?

The net worth of Offset, an American rapper, singer, and songwriter, is $28 million. He is predominantly recognized as a member of the hip-hop group Migos, alongside rappers Quavo and the late Takeoff. Migos has put out four studio albums: “Yung Rich Nation” (2015), “Culture” (2017), “Culture II” (2018), and “Culture III” (2021). At the height of their success, Migos ranked among the highest-earning music groups globally, accumulating $25 million in earnings within a single year from 2017 to 2018. Unfortunately, Takeoff, a member of Migos, was tragically murdered in November 2022. In addition to his work with Migos, Offset was known for his marriage to Cardi B, which lasted from 2017 until 2023.

Early Life

Born on December 14, 1991, in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Kiari Kendrell Cephus is better known as Offset. He experienced a middle-class upbringing in Gwinnett County, Georgia, alongside his fellow bandmates Quavo and Takeoff, who are also family; Quavo is Offset’s cousin and Takeoff is his cousin once removed (with Quavo as Takeoff’s uncle). Together, they were influenced by artists such as Outkast, Gucci Mane, Hot Boys, Lil Wayne, and Master P from a young age.

Career

The hip-hop group Migos was established by Offset, Quavo, and Takeoff in 2008, initially known as the Polo Club. They garnered attention in 2013 with their single “Versace” following the release of their first mixtape, “Juug Season,” in 2011. Migos’s debut studio album, “Yung Rich Nation,” launched in 2015, achieved significant success, securing the No. 3 spot on the US Rap chart, No. 5 on the US R&B/Hip-Hop chart, and No. 17 on the Billboard 200. Their 2017 single “Bad and Boujee” (featuring Lil Uzi Vert) became a massive Internet sensation, particularly with Offset’s lyrics “rain drop, drop top” leading to numerous memes. Migos released their second studio album, “Culture,” in 2017, which debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 and was certified platinum by the RIAA, followed by “Culture II” in 2018.

Offset’s solo efforts include a collaborative album with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin titled “Without Warning,” released in 2017, which features artists like Travis Scott and Quavo and reached No. 4 on the US Billboard 200 chart. In February 2019, Offset put out his first solo album, “Father of 4,” in collaboration with Motown and Quality Control Music, which includes artists such as J. Cole, Cardi B, Big Rube, Gunna, CeeLo Green, and Gucci Mane. “Father of 4” debuted at No. 4 on the US Billboard 200 and received positive feedback from both critics and audiences.

In August 2022, Offset announced intentions for his second studio album, releasing two new singles, “54321” and “Code.” He initiated a lawsuit against his record label, Quality Control Music, due to a dispute over his solo music rights. Offset’s legal representatives claimed he had paid a considerable amount for his solo artist rights after negotiations the previous year, yet QC allegedly tried to assert ownership of his latest track.

After rumors of Quavo’s ex-girlfriend Saweetie having an affair with Offset surfaced, Quavo and Takeoff decided to part ways from Migos, forming Unc & Phew. On November 1, 2022, Takeoff was fatally shot outside a bowling alley following a party in Houston, Texas, leading Offset to postpone his album release. In 2023, there were reports of a physical altercation between Offset and Quavo backstage at the Grammys. However, the two reconciled by February, performing together at the BET Awards in honor of the late Takeoff.

Business Ventures and Other Work

Alongside his contributions to music, Offset has participated in advertising campaigns for various fashion designers and brands such as Gosha Rubchinskiy, Bryce Barnes, and Lavati. He also featured with the other Migos members in a 2016 episode of the television series “Atlanta.” In 2020, he launched a new show on Quibi titled “SKRRT with Offset,” highlighting his experiences driving around in luxurious cars with other celebrities.

In August 2019, it was revealed that Offset became a new investor in the Esports organization FaZe Clan, although details regarding the investment amount and type were not disclosed. He has since made appearances in two videos by FaZe Clan on YouTube. Offset made his acting debut in NCIS: Los Angeles and joined forces with Axis Replay in 2020 to support struggling artists. After the loss of his mother to bladder cancer in 2012, Offset raised $500,000 for the American Cancer Society.

Offset began his romantic relationship with fellow American rapper Cardi B in 2017. They married secretly in Georgia in September 2017 but did not disclose it to the public until June 2018, when celebrity gossip outlet TMZ uncovered their wedding certificate. Despite being married, Offset famously proposed to Cardi during a live show in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 27, 2017. In April 2018, Cardi publicly shared the news of her pregnancy during an appearance on “Saturday Night Live.” Their daughter, Kulture Kiari Cephus, was born on July 10, 2018. Additionally, Offset has three other children from previous relationships: sons Jordan and Kody, and daughter Kalea. His relationship with Cardi has been rocky and characterized by allegations of infidelity on Offset’s part.

On September 15, 2020, Cardi B initiated divorce proceedings against Offset, seeking primary physical custody of Kulture, child support, and an equitable division of assets due to the lack of a prenup. They were already living separately at the time of the filing. Reports surfaced a month later indicating they had reconciled. In June 2021, they revealed they were expecting their second child, who was born later that year as their son, Wave Set Cephus. On August 1, 2024, news broke that Cardi had filed for divorce from Offset again.

Offset has had his share of legal troubles, including felony convictions for burglary and theft. In 2013, he was jailed in DeKalb County, Georgia, after violating probation for these offenses. Then, in 2015, Offset was arrested with Quavo and Takeoff during a Migos concert at Georgia Southern University. He faced several charges, including possession of an unspecified Schedule II narcotic, marijuana possession, possession of a firearm within a school safety zone, and possession of a firearm during a crime. While still in custody, he was charged with battery and inciting a riot after allegedly attacking another inmate. He was released in December. In 2015, after spending eight months in custody and accepting an Alford plea deal, the gun, drug, and gang-related charges against him were dropped. In exchange, he pleaded guilty to inciting a riot, was fined $1,000, and was sentenced to five years of probation. Another condition of the plea deal required him to be banished from Bulloch, Effingham, Jenkins, and Screven counties in Georgia.

In April 2019, Offset was charged with a felony for possessing three handguns and drugs stemming from a previous arrest in July 2018. Later, in October 2020, he was detained by Beverly Hills Police for carrying a concealed weapon near a Donald Trump rally, but he was released shortly thereafter. In 2021, he faced a lawsuit from Platinum Transportation Group, a car rental company in Los Angeles, after he reportedly rented a Bentley Bentayga, delayed returning it several times, and subsequently claimed he didn’t know where the car had gone.

Real Estate

In December 2019, Cardi B and Offset purchased a property just outside of Atlanta for $5.5 million. The home, which spans 22,000 square feet, features five bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, all situated on nearly six acres of land. Originally listed for $10 million in 2017, the property is now showcased in this video tour:

Career Earnings

Migos earned a combined total of $25 million between September 2017 and September 2018. It is estimated that Offset earned around $8 million from those gross earnings. This figure was largely due to a demanding tour schedule that included 93 shows over 12 months. Additionally, they ranked among the most popular streaming acts globally, accumulating 4 billion streams during that same period. From September 2018 to September 2019, their earnings rose to $36 million.
